Can You Hear Natalie Now? Good!

Posted 4/17/2004 by Adge

Those of you with cable, keep an eye out for the new Verizon wireless commercial featuring Natalie!  I caught it on The History Channel, which is also a great place to see the masterful miniseries Band of Brothers.

Abe Meets Lucy

Posted 12/22/2003 by Mike

While organizing my music on iTunes today, I noticed that much of rising-artist Lucy Woodward's new CD, While You Can, features the drum stylings of Roundhouse's own Abe Laboriel, including her current single “The Trouble With Me.” The track “Blindsided” was also co-written by Abe.

Check out Lucy's site for information on the disc and audio/video samples. I can personally attest - it's a good listen!

John & Julene Bits

10/6/2003

Our own John Crane is a writer and co-producer on the Fox sketch comedy series, Mad TV. (Saturdays at 11pm, or check local listings.)

And....!

Julene Renee is credited as cast in the 2004 animated Robert Zemeckis film,The Polar Express.  The film is currently in post production.

Micki Gets The Rundown

7/4/2003

I (Mike) don't usually get to post these news items, but I saw this little tidbit, and decided to get it up here first! Micki Duran is going to be appearing in the motion picture, The Rundown, when it opens this September 26 in theatres nationwide. The film stars WWE's The Rock, Sean William Scott, and Christopher Walken, and looks to be an action/comedy. Micki is credited as, (big surprise,) "Dancer." However, she is listed in the primary pre-production list of credits on IMDb, so her role may indeed be larger than in past films. IMDb also lists Micki as being involved in the upcoming Looney Toons: Back in Action, to be released in November.

Update 10/12/2003

Micki's name is no longer listed on the IMDB listing for The Rundown. Also, the All-American Girl Micki fansite claims that Micki is NOT in The Rundown. Can anyone please verify this? I (Mike) thought I did see her in a very quick shot in one of the trailers, but I have not seen the full motion picture, and I cannot verify whether or not she actually remains in the film. Please e-mail us if you have any information! Thanks!

Glued to the Tube for Bryan Anthony
and David Nicoll

1/25/2003

I know lots of you saw David Nicoll on E!'s intellectually stimulating Star Dates with Jill Whelan, but if you missed it worry not, it's scheduled to air again Sunday, February 2nd. Rest assured it's not quite the car wreck that his appearance on The 5th Wheel was. Check local listings. And on a final note, a thanks goes out to Nicole for informing us that Bryan appeared on ESPN's ProDance Full Out Special! Unfortunately, it doesn't look like this is going to air again anytime soon. I guess we told you kind of late. Late is better than never, right? Check local listings.

Natalie is currently appearing at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts as a lead in McCoy Rigby's musical, Swingtime Canteen. Nicoll Promotions

12/2/01

The David Nicoll Street Team is looking for new members. The Street Team members are folks who don't mind handing out flyers to friends, promoting David online, or who have other ideas to help launch his solo career. Street Team members (I am one) get the scoop as it happens and are eligible for exclusive contests. This is something people from all over can do, in fact the more widespread the better. If anyone out there is interested in joining the David Nicoll Street Team, please email us here.

David's fan club presidents are also trying to raise money to get David a 1/3 page ad in Twist Magazine - so thousands of teens out there can see that there's a new talent on the verge. These ads are expensive though so they're looking to get contributions from all over. If you would like to help or you know a company that would perhaps like to sponsor David for this project, please email David's fan club presidents, Marci and Micki, at leakymules@yahoo.com.

Visit David's official website David Nicoll for more info on his solo career. See David's video for his current hit "Biggie Bounce" here.

Natalie's Reprise!

11/5/01

Natalie is performing in "The Most Happy Fella" this November with Reprise! Theatre at the Freud Playhouse in UCLA. By way of Natalie's gigantic heart, I was fortunate enough to attend a dress rehearsal for the show and it was absolutely wonderful. If you live in the Southern California area and would like to see the show, visit www.reprise.org/themost.htm for ticket information. Or call the central ticket office at (310) 825-2101 for more information. The show is running from November 6 - 18.

Hometown Crystal

11/5/01

Crystal is once again holding a concert at the Sun Theatre in her hometown of Anaheim, CA this November 17. I saw her concert there last year and adored it. It was all encompassing ... she sang new songs, old ones (and some really old ones), and even a little disco! This concert has more music than most of her road concerts and has a down home, intimate feeling as well. I'm going again this year and I can't wait. For ticket information, search for Crystal at www.ticketmaster.com or call the Sun Theatre box-office at: (714) 712-2700.

Nicoll in September 11 Tribute

10/24/01

Unsigned Artists for Unsung Heroes have released the pop single, "Heroes Unsung" which Nicoll has two solos in. The single was released October 8 and the proceeds from sales go to Clear Channel's Disaster Relief Fund and the Revolutionary Association of Women of Afghanistan (RAWA). For donation or ordering info, please visit www.usa4ush.com There is also a video for the song, that hopefully will begin playing on the video stations soon.

Here's David singing "Heroes Unsung" at a benefit showcase in LA, October 7.

More on More

10/24/01

Now that I own Crystal's newest album More, I can tell you all a little more about it. The three new songs are; "More", "I Guess", and "Like a Child." The two songs featuring new remixes are, "Shine, Jesus, Shine" and "I Now Live." The DVD that accompanies the CD, features surround sound mixes of the five songs listed above, a documentary (with GREAT footage of Crystal laying a track for "Like a Child") and her videos for "More," "Trust Me," "Lord I Believe in You" (the James Raymond mix), "Beauty for Ashes," and "The Beauty of the Cross." The video for "More" is put together like an action movie trailer parody. It's so delightfully cheesy and so much fun to watch. I haven't seen Crystal play around this much since Roundhouse- so I absolutely love this new video. In upcoming Crystal news, on December 4, Crystal will be releasing a vocal performance kit which contains 3 CDs and a booklet - 10 tracks, demos, vocal tips and exercises for all the aspiring vocalists out there.

Bryan and Nicoll in Teen Mag

10/24/01

Britney, Justin, Britney, Justin... but skip to the back pages of the teen magazine "J-14" and you might find somebody you know. In the August 2001 issue of "J-14" there is an attractive picture of Bryan Anthony dancing with Vitamin C on page 85. On page 98 of the October 2001 "J-14" you'll find David Nicoll posing with the rest of the participants from this July's 'N Sync Challenge for the Children event. So, next time, flip past Christina and look in the back of the teen mags.

(Ahem, I feel I should explain here - I'm 23... so I have no idea why I was flipping through teen mags this August. I have a sixth sense for Bryan Anthony! And Nicoll's fan club presidents, Marci & Micki, clued me in to the October issue. I normally read uh... "Newsweek" and "National Geographic"!)

When God's People Pray

9/19/01

Mike and I wish to express to all of you who are experiencing loss or solidarity right now, our prayers are with you. While deeply saddened by this strike against freedom and democracy, I must say I have never been more proud to be an American. Born Tuesday were a mass of heroes. Those notoriously tough, hard, New Yorkers died to save strangers. There are still heroes working now, in New York, Washington, DC, Pennsylvania, and all over this great nation. I had no idea what Americans were really made of... and I am so pleased with the way this nation has responded to crisis. I just didn't think that kind of selfless hero existed anymore. Thank God I was wrong! My favorite poet, Walt Whitman, spoke of the heroism of Americans more than 100 years ago after the Civil War, but it still applies - "I never knew you, Yet I think I could not refuse this moment to die for you, if that would save you.” (The Wound-Dresser, Drum-Taps, 1892)

I am also so pleased with the outpouring of support from other nations all over the world. The pictures of people praying in Germany, Britain, Israel, Canada, Australia, and everywhere have been so touching. I hope that we never lose this love we all feel for each other right now. And thank you, heroes.

I went over to crystallewis.com to see what they had to say concerning this because September 11th was Crystal's birthday -- can you imagine? What a horrible birthday it must have been. At the site though, instead of the normal Crystal splash screen, there is a giant American flag. You can download an MPEG file for a September 11th tribute song Crystal must have just recorded. It's called "When God's People Pray" and it is gorgeous. The lyrics are listed right there too. "We are not powerless in the face of fear. As one we will stand and make our voices clear."

More New Crystal Stuff

9/19/01

Crystal has a new greatest hits album coming out October 2nd called, "More"! Now before you say, not another greatest hits album- just listen... it's got three new songs and two new remixes AND there is, reportedly, a bonus DVD that comes with the CD, that has all of Crystal's videos, a documentary, and more. So yeah um, all the music videos? I'm there! Crystal's CDs are sold at Christian bookstores (and regular music stores, but the selection is often small) and off her website at www.crystallewis.com

It's the Beef!

9/2/01

What a lovely day at the mall! Small report from the David Nicoll scene... I went to the Glendale mall again this week to catch David's show. It was so much more crowded this week than it was the last. I didn't have my roommate Joy with me this time, and she's the one who shoves me up to meet the people I'm too shy to meet. It's hard to believe, but with RH cast members, I'm shy! So I didn't end up talking to Nicoll this time. Also, Joy is a much better photographer than I am - so many of the 'in-concert' shots on the site of Nicoll or Crystal, are taken by her with my camera. Today I had to photograph the show myself. What did I end up with? Crooked, aerial shots of Nicoll's butt. I was up above and behind the stage. Don't get me wrong, it was a good view! But I would have liked to view the show from the front - without someone's elbow in my ribs. What you folks may not know about Californians is that the genetically enhanced hormones that they eat in fast food beef causes them to elbow people at random. It also causes them to walk really slow -- but as an odd transverse effect, it makes them drive really fast. I don't know what to say, it must be the beef. It also would have been nice to have been able to do the "Biggie Bounce" arm movement without sending a shrilling teenage girl with a "Joy Enriquez" sign over the railing to her death or ultimate embarrassment. And no I'm not that strong (I only eat poultry) it's just that is how crowded this place was. So anyway, if I feel so inspired, I'll post one of the crooked, aerial butt shots here -- so that maybe, one of you out there can tell me what my purpose in this world is.

More Biggie Bouncin'

8/25/01

Missed him last week? You can catch David Nicoll again! Sunday, August 26 2pm-4pm Glendale Galleria, Glendale, CA; JCPenney Court, Hosted by JoJo from KIIS-FM. Please email me if you're going! I went last week and met David and had a great time. His fan club presidents, Marci and Micki, are super cool. And there are some great folks on the David Nicoll street team as well. I was very nervous meeting David, but hopefully I won't be as nervous this time. He's an awesome live performer!!

8/5/01

Mike and I are hoping to begin conducting interviews with the Roundhouse cast, band, and crew - here at the Easychair Expressway. But we need your help! We need questions. Ever wonder why Ivan only wore white socks? Ever wonder who Helena was, and why she didn't have any feet? Which was Micki's favorite outfit? What was up with that Barbie? Questions like these and many more, are what we're seeking. Please help us out and email us with your questions. Please include your name, the city you're writing from, and the name of the person who you would like to answer your question. Thank you!

Nicoll to Perform at *NSync Function in Vegas

7/11/01

Nicoll will be performing at the Saturday Celebrity Skills Challenge at *NSync's Challenge For The Children, on July 28th at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas. It is a two day function and he will be there both days, but I'm not sure to what capacity he'll be there on the second day. The show is near sold out, but call (888) 464-2468 for ticket information. This information comes thanks to Nicoll fan club presidents, Marci and Micki.

b-Ant... er, Bryan Anthony

Nicoll News

6/21/01

Nicoll is going to appear on the new MTV show, It's Your Turn! The show is taping on June 27th, but no airdate is available yet, so keep checking back for info! Also Nicoll will be performing on the soundtrack to the upcoming movie "Scooby Doo" on a track called, "Cyber Chase." Stay tuned for details.

To keep up with the constant activity in Nicoll's life, visit his website: David Nicollwhere you can preorder his CD single "Biggie Bounce."

So, I tried to attend one of the Hollywood Knight's Celebrity Basketball tournaments at Burbank High School to see Nicoll - found myself in the midst of a mob before the game even started. I mean it was crazy - it was worse than a Target store on Christmas Eve! Needless, to say - I didn't get in. I hope everyone came out of that with their lives in tact. As soon as I successfully attend one of Nicoll's performances, I'll post about it here.

Crystal on Tour and More!

6/21/01

Crystal will be doing the Harvest Crusades again this year, as well as various other appearances around the country.

Check out Crystal on the soundtrack for the film Kingdom Come! It's a Kirk Franklin produced album, for the film which starred Jada Pinkett Smith, Vivica J. Fox, LL Cool J and Whoopi Goldberg. Crystal sings the track, "Someday."

Micki in Country Video

6/21/01

Micki was spotted dancing in the recent video "Live It Up" for the boy group Marshall Dyllon. You can catch the video on the Country Music network.

Grammy Update

3/10/01

Unfortunately, Crystal did not take home the little gramophone this year. The award for Best Gospel/Christian Album went to Jars of Clay, a band that crossed over into mainstream a few years back. I saw Crystal briefly on the red carpet before the show (on the VH1 preshow) and she looked very happy. I hope she made a beeline for Sting, since he's one of her favorites.

Oh, and if they'd-a-asked us Crystal, not only would you have won, but there would be a 'best live performer' category named after you.

Crystal Up for Grammy

1/5/01

Crystal's newest original solo album, Fearless earned a nomination for the 43rd Annual Grammy Awards for best pop/contemporary gospel album. This is Crystal's first Grammy nomination and it is truly an honor we are all excited about.

The Grammys will air February 21, 2001 on CBS -- and we'll of course post the results here.

Micki Does Awards Shows

1/10/01

Another Roundhouse cast member has made an appearance on another major music awards show. If you happened to have watched the American Music Awards on Monday night, you may have noticed Micki Duran dancing during Britney Spears' performance. Pictures to come soon!

Also, Micki recently danced with Mystikal at the Billboard Awards, where she was once again teamed up with Roundhouse director Bruce Gowers.

9/2/00

I just thought I'd share with the world, that today, August 30, 2000 I finally saw the Julene York Peppermint Patty commercial which I've been hearing about for over a year but just dismissed as an urban myth. Thank you all for sticking with me and saying, "You can do it, Adge!" Meanwhile, I'm taping all the commercial breaks on the Game Show Network. I love you all!

Alfred & Seymour at Awards

9/2/00

I ran into the guys at the First Annual Hip Hop Dance Awards in June. They said they were nominated for improvisational something or other, but I did not learn the outcome of that. I did however see Seymour accept an award which was given to the cast of the Sketchers commercial for Outstanding Performance by a Cast for a Commercial. You may remember it - had a bunch of b-boys spinning on their heads and the like.

Here's Seymour at the podium with Flo Master.

updated 6/20/99

That's right, everyone! For the first time in over three years, the House of Round will once again be broadcast by Nickelodeon. In a special celebration of Nickelodeon's 20th anniversary, they will be airing some of their older (and better) shows on Saturday, June 26. In addition to Roundhouse, look for You Can't Do That on Television, Double Dare, Are You Afraid of the Dark and more. Roundhouse will either air at 5:00 or 5:30 ET... Check here for the definite air-time!

update
Apparently, Roundhouse will be airing at 5:30 pm ET. The episode shown at this time is going to be the “New Kid at School” episode. PLUS, we've just been told that they've also given it a second time slot at 10:30 pm ET! The fourth season “War” episode is going to be shown here. New Benny Hester Project

11/16/98

Benny Hester has a new compilation album coming out! Classic Archives will be available at the beginning of the new year at a Christian bookstore near you. Missed “When God Ran?” Never heard of “Restless Nights?” Yes you have, it was the model for Roundhouse song, “Back Where We Belong.” Same song, different lyrics. Believe it, it's true! Remember “Before You Know It,” the last song sung on Roundhouse? Well, Benny sang it first. Now you can get all these songs... OK, I can't guarantee that these songs are on the new album... but I have very little info on this and I have to write something, right? I can assure you though, these songs DO exist on Benny Hester albums! (Personal BestUnited We Stand/Divided We Falland Perfect.) So keep an eye out for the album and we'll keep you updated. (Vote for me, thank you for watching CNN.) Don't know who Benny Hester is? You should. Visit the Rebels section.

Petition Corner

A number of devoted Roundhouse fans have gone through a lot of work to prepare petitions to help get the House of Round back on the air waves. Kath & Meredith's petition page has been around for a good while, and they've begun a new follow-up petition. A newcomer to the fight, is Spacey's petition page, which seems to be growing fast. Check out both of these great sites and lend your support to the cause!!
