As the resident "mom" on Roundhouse,
Shawn Daywalt has been a very important part of the series for its entire
run. She has a very pretty voice and has been using it professionally
since she was 14, doing regional theater and taking principal roles
in such shows as: Babes in Hollywood, Evita, Mame,
Man Of La Mancha, My Fair Lady, Oklahoma, South
Pacific, and West Side Story. Shawn started her theater interest
at the early age of nine, studying ballet in her home town Laguna Beach,
CA. It was an injury that cut her ballet aspirations short and led her
to pursue musical theater. She is a graduate of the Los Angeles Civic
Light Opera workshop. Shawn sang in a three person review of songs by
Sammy Cahn. She was first place recipient of the Carol Burnett Award.
In 1995 Shawn sang in a Gershwin review put on by the Library of Congress.
The concert aired on public radio in July of that year. Shawn is now
married and has two kids. Shawn graduated from UCLA. She auditioned for Roundhouse with the song "Yesterday," by the Beatles. Jobs that came with RH: hosted an MTV Top 20 countdown in 1993. Hosted SNICK Live in 1994. Appeared with the 2nd season cast on Entertainment Tonight. Shawn has her own profile commercial for Nickelodeon.
